Just another weblog about design, web standards, accesibility, user experience, html, stylesheets and javascript. In other words a weblog about the internet.

The art of title sequences

untitled-1.jpg

A complete website dedicated to title sequences. Recently I watched Juno (a must see movie). I was impressed by the Juno title sequence. You can see it here, there is even a “how we did it” feature on Flickr.

Classical music visualized as a rollercoaster ride

An advertisment for the Zurich Chamber Orchestra visualized as a rollercoaster ride. Brilliant!

Kraak & Smaak - squeeze me

Very nice videoclip for Kraak & Smaak made by Pool Productions. The concept is combining video with the old school flip book.

Flickr video made available

Flickr video

Flickr released Flickr video today. Pro user now can upload 90 seconds / 150Mb of video. Anyone can view them (based on privacy settings off course). Just like with photos, other user can embed your photos in external webpages (again based on the settings).

Bonus: Flickr is also doubling the size of photos that can be uploaded — 20MB per photo for pro members and 10MB per photo for members with free accounts.

Update (11th april 2008): It seems a lot of Flickr users want Flickr to stay a photo only community. Justine explains it and has her own opinion.

Customizable news website

Dagblad van het Noorden website

Recently BBC launched their new website with draggable and customizable panels. When I saw this website I was suprised to be working on a similar project. We at Wisdom where creating the new website for the newspaper websites of NDC/VBK (Dagblad van het Noorden and Leeuwarder Courant). These websites are based on panels. Users can create their own panels and can define the look of the news displayed in these panels. The panels can be dragged and dropped on the page to sort the news. All the interaction is based on the Yahoo! User Interface Library.
